A paradigm shift is starting as more and more of our communities wake up to the damage effects of diet culture and body bias. The therapist’s office has not been immune to the influences of weight and size stigma so in this workshop we’ll explore a different way of thinking about health, a way that does not use a person’s body size, shape, or weight as the primary indicator of well-being.
In this workshop, Katie Cashin, LCPC (B’well Counseling, LLC) and Samantha Lewandowski, RDN, LDN, CEDRD (Big Picture Nutrition, LLC) will...
- share the science and history behind the Health at Every Size movement
- explore the different layers of diet culture
- help clinicians examine their own biases and judgments
- provide accessible ways to bring a HAES perspective into clinical practice
